Cara Remmes, PhD

Dr. Cara Remmes is a clinical psychologist licensed in New York and New Jersey and is registered as a telehealth provider in Florida. She specializes in the treatment of anxiety in children, adolescents and adults. She has extensive experience working with adolescents and young adults who face stressors associated with competitive and demanding school and work environments. She is also knowledgeable in working with individuals who are intellectually gifted and those who present as twice-exceptional (2e).

Dr. Remmes received her bachelor’s degree in Human Development from Cornell University and received her masters and doctorate degrees in Clinical Psychology from the University of Miami, an APA accredited program. She completed her pre-doctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship at New York Presbyterian Hospital – Columbia University Medical Center. Throughout her training, Dr. Remmes has specialized in the use of evidence-based treatments to address mental health concerns in individuals across the lifespan. She has over seven years of post-graduate professional experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. She has also served as the Lower School Clinical Director at the Quad Preparatory School, a specialized K-12 school for twice exceptional (2e) learners. In this position she provided supervision to a team of psychologists, mental health counselors, speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and psychology graduate students.

Dr. Remmes is skilled in the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention, Habit Reversal Training, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE). She is also a certified Therapist and Level 1 Trainer in Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) for youth with disruptive behavior disorders. Additionally, Dr. Remmes is skilled in the use of Parent Management Training and Collaborative and Proactive Solutions (CPS) to address youth behavioral concerns.

Jennifer Karson, LCSW

Jennifer Karson is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New York. She works with individuals across the lifespan who are experiencing anxiety, ADHD & executive functioning difficulties, psychosocial stressors, and family & interpersonal challenges.

 Jennifer received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Florida and received her master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from Florida Atlantic University. She completed her practicum with Broward County Public Schools, where she specialized in providing evidence-based clinical services to students and their families ranging from Pre-K to High School. With over five years of post-graduate experience, Jennifer has worked in diverse environments, including community mental health and non-profit settings, where she delivered individual, group, and family-based therapy. Jennifer partners with her clients, empowering them to develop the tools and strategies to cope with difficult emotions while navigating interpersonal relationships and life transitions.

 Jennifer utilizes a client-centered framework and is skilled in the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). Additionally, she has many years of experience facilitating Social Emotional Learning and Social Thinking curriculums with individuals and groups.
